What is a postdoc?

A postdoc is a temporary position that allows a PhD candidate to continue training as a researcher and gain skills and experience that will prepare them for a research career.

In summary, postdocs are researchers working under the guidance of a mentor as part of a research team. They conduct research either on a predetermined project or on their own project and publish the results of their research. At the same time, postdocs are meant to prepare graduate students to become more experienced researchers or teachers, so they also take on certain responsibilities, such as mentoring, preparing grant applications, and teaching.
