The purpose of the program is to prepare highly qualified personnel for activities requiring professional training and knowledge in the field of design, research, installation and operation of ground and space transport systems (cars, tractors, special transport vehicles, mobile robots, planetary rovers, etc.) and their aggregates.

The graduate is able to conduct patent search and design materials for obtaining patents, analyze, systematize and summarize information from global computer networks. Able to organize dissertation research and protection of rights to the results of intellectual activity; formulate and solve actual research tasks for solving practical problems in the field of transport engineering, be able to organize safe experimental research taking into account the specifics of enterprises, modify existing and develop new research methods using computer models.

The proposed program is an integral system of learning elements designed to ensure the effective preparation of a graduate student for the upcoming pedagogical activity at the university, as well as for active research activities.

Key Features:

1. The use of advanced design and technological experience of the military and space industry in solving problems of transport engineering;

2. The principle of work at the intersection of disciplines, fields of knowledge (complex solution of problems of transport engineering involving approaches and principles of mechatronics and robotics, decision theory, fuzzy logic methods, etc.);

3. Orientation to projects of high social significance, relevance in the context of current and future tasks of transport engineering;

4. The use of modern methods and means of modeling the operation of mechanisms and systems; computer technologies in the design of components and assemblies of transport and transport-technological machines;

5. Cooperation with enterprises of the machine-building industry engaged in the production of high-tech products and interested in finding and implementing new technical solutions and design methods.

The curriculum contains specialized and auxiliary disciplines; preparation for the candidate's minimum exams in English and the history of science and technology is provided.

Profile disciplines in the curriculum:

• Special issues of calculation and design of transport vehicles

• Testing of transport vehicles

• Special issues of calculation and design of equipment for testing transport vehicles

• Wheeled and tracked vehicles

• Application of methods of calculation and design of transport vehicles

Achievements of the Higher School of Transport in this field:

• Development of the design of a new model range of automated gearboxes for agricultural and road construction equipment in the range of 140-440 kW, adapted for use in a complex of unmanned tractor systems

• Pulse control of highly loaded mechatronics objects in transmissions of transport vehicles

• Small-sized special vehicles and mobile technology platforms

• Hybrid and electromechanical transmissions of transport vehicles

Requirements for applicants: in addition to the general requirements for applicants to graduate school – knowledge of the Russian language to the extent sufficient to work with Russian-language literary sources in the specialty.
